about me
Nice to meet you! I'm Nic, a film composer & sound designer based in Ohio.
Music is my first love, and I jump at any chance to create it. Beneath my film scores lies a deep foundation of experience- I have written orchestral & wind symphony works, choral pieces, jazz ensemble charts, electronic music, and even dance music (a surprisingly frequent request!), as well as solo and small ensemble works.
Like music, sound can make us feel worlds of emotion. Years ago I fell in love with the whole process of sound design – field recording, editing, creating sound effects. And, like any sound designer, I love to collect sounds. You never know when you might need that one sound you recorded years ago!
My favorite part about both music and sound is the opportunity to collaborate with others towards a creative vision. It’s a process which ignites me with excitement and makes me feel the depth of life.

My Influences
I am deeply inspired by the melodies of John Williams; he is one of the greatest composers to ever live. I am also very moved by works which fuse electronics and acoustic instruments into something new and organic. Hans Zimmer, and Ludwig Göransson are great examples of this style. Outside the film world, I am inspired by the flow of Aaron Copland, the rhythmic energy of John Adams, the textures of Maurice Ravel, the sound design of KOAN Sound, Bill Evans’ harmony and voice leading, the exhilarating madness of Prokofiev, the depth of Brad Meldhau…just to name a few.
My Education and Experience
In 2023 I graduated from Cedarville University with a degree in Composition and a music technology minor. Since then I have written scores for films of wildly varying genres, as well as taking on the role of assistant composer and sound designer for AVC (audio visual club), an east-coast based audio post production company that is quickly rising in the ranks.
